Baynes is a recording artist, performer and founder of Inn House Studios whose sound lives at the crossroads of two worlds. Born Kymani Williams Baynes in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Trinidad and Tobago from the age of three, he grew up above a bar where Bob Marley, Vybz Kartel and Prophet Benjamin played into the night — and in front of a TV where his older cousins kept 106 & Park running. That collision of Caribbean roots and early-2000s hip-hop shaped a style he calls Callaloo: named after the Trinidadian dish where everything blends into one pot, it fuses soca, calypso, rap, reggae, dancehall and Afrobeats into a sound he's building into a genre of its own.

A former Calypso and Soca Monarch competitor who taught himself to produce and record on a hand-me-down MacBook, Baynes announced his direction with two 2022 EPs — August 26th, released on his birthday, and the introspective, R&B-leaning Feelings Thing — before shifting his focus to singles and cinematic music videos. Fan favorites like "Cadillac" and the short-film-inspired "You & Me" paved the way for his current releases "Callaloo" and "Sunrise," while a viral Carnival-season run pushed his content toward a million views across Instagram and TikTok. His live performance series, 1/2 Way Off the Porch, premiered on YouTube in July 2026.

After passing on label deals that didn't fit, Baynes bet on himself and built Inn House Studios — and the bet is paying off. His audience now stretches from Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and Guyana to DC, Philly, New York and Atlanta, proof that the crossover isn't a marketing move. It's who he is.
